Roosevelt Police received a domestic violence call and were able to speak with the victim on the phone, who told them they contacted a friend to pick up the kids to get them out of the house.

It was reported that the offender, 45-year-old Michael Wayne Eades, and the victim told the police that he wasn't currently at the home and nothing physical had taken place. It was decided the police would keep an eye out for Michael.

Later that night, around 11:20 pm, Roosevelt Police responded to a 911 call from the same address where the domestic violence had been reported to have taken place. When they arrived on scene, the victim answered the door and directed them to one of the bedrooms, where Michael was found hiding in a closet.

Michael was very intoxicated; the victim stated Michael had hit her in the face. She also stated that the incident took place in front of a five and seven-year-old child. The victim of the domestic violence was pregnant at the time of the incident.

Michael was placed under arrest for assault of a pregnant person with a domestic violence enhancement and two domestic violence in the presence of a child charges.

Another officer also located a container with what appeared to be consistent with that of marijuana dabs, along with a glass pipe and a torch that was said to belong to Michael.

Upon further investigation with the victim, it was stated that Michael had punched the five-year-old child in the stomach; it was observed while speaking with the victim that the child was holding their stomach and grimacing every once in a while, mentioning that they felt pain.

Michael was transported and booked into the Duchesne County Jail on charges of assault of a pregnant person, a misdemeanor A, child abuse with injury intentional or knowing, a misdemeanor A, two counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child, both misdemeanor B, possession of or use of drug paraphernalia a misdemeanor B, and possession of marijuana/ spice a misdemeanor B, and intoxication a misdemeanor C.
