On Friday, a white Dodge truck with a temporary paper registration that expired in October 2024, oversized tires, and no mud flaps was traveling westbound on US-40, that took an unusual amount of time to pull over for a traffic stop.
UHP Trooper Ryan approached the truck and identified the male driver as 19-year-old Zayden Marcus Neill.
The trooper asked the driver about the expired tag, and Zayden stated that he had bought the truck in Ogden, knew it was expired, and was waiting to get down to Arizona to register it.
There was a pack of cigarettes on the center console in plain view, and the officer asked if there were any other nicotine products in the truck. Zayden stated he had a vape in his pocket and a firearm inside the truck.
A records check of the truck's VIN number was performed, and it returned to a John Watson Chevrolet in Ogden. The registration has no expiration date.
Trooper Ryan informed Zayden that his truck would be searched. Zayden told the trooper he had a box of beer on the back seat. When asked when he last had a drink, Zayden said it was about three days ago.
During the vehicle search, the trooper found multiple chewing tobacco containers. Two clear plastic baggies in one of the cans contained a white, chalky substance that crumbled into a powder.
The trooper tested the powder, and it tested positive for cocaine. He found the open pack of Coors Light, which had six to ten cans left. The beer was dumped out on the side of the road. The firearm was located between the driver's seat and the center console.
Zayden was placed under arrest and taken to the Uintah County Jail, where he is being charged with possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of tobacco by a minor, possession of alcohol by a minor and failure to register the vehicle.
Zayden Marcus Neill may post bail in the amount of $2,500.00.
If Zayden Neill posts bail as stated above, Zayden is hereby ordered to be released subject to the following conditions:
• Promise to appear for all required court proceedings
• Promise to not commit any criminal offense

Court and your attorney within 1 business day of the change
