Vernal, Ut.-On 5/19/23, Vernal Police Officers were dispatched to the Uintah Basin Healthcare Clinic at 405 North 500 West in Vernal. It was reported that 19-year-old Kaelyn Ray Hone was intoxicated and out of control.
Cpl. Randall and Sgt. Roth arrived at the clinic and could hear Kaelyn screaming in her room. The Officers were advised that her BrAC was over .300.
Cpl. Randall arrested Kaelyn, and he and Sgt Roth escorted her to Roth's patrol car. Kaelyn would stop walking and continue to scream once Kaelyn was secured in the patrol vehicle, Cpl. Randall returned to the clinic to speak with the medical staff treating Karlyn while Sgt. Roth transported her to the Uintah County Jail.
Cpl. Randal spoke with medical staff, and one stated Kaelyn punched her in the chest. They stated Kaelyn became increasingly agitated and would move to the edge of the bed.
The staff became concerned Kaelyn was going to throw herself on the floor and to prevent her from doing that, two nurses grabbed her and placed her back on the bed. That is when one of the medical staff was punched in the chest.
Kaelyn was booked into the Uintah County Jail, where she was booked on the following charges:
One count of Assault/Threat of Violence on Healthcare Providers.
One count of Purchase, Possess, and Consume, Alcohol by a Minor.
One count of Intoxication.
One count of Disorderly Conduct.
