Roosevelt, Ut.- On 3/29/23, Officer Barton was out on patrol and drove through the parking lot of the Frontier Grill and saw a female with whom he had recent cases with.
She and another male were standing in front of one of the rooms.
Officer Barton spoke with a citizen about the drug activity going on in that room. He did a warrant check on the unknown female, and she had an active warrant. When the Officer turned around, nobody was standing outside the room.
The Officer knocked on the door, and 21-year-old Bradley Doyle Seaver answered the door. Officer Barton asked him to have the female come and speak with him. When she came to the door, she was placed under arrest.
She asked for her property, and got the woman her belongings. While the Officer was waiting with the Hotel door open, he could smell the odor of marijuana. He asked the male about it and said, "He smoked it all."
Officer Barton asked if he could search the room, and Bradley said, "No."
He was informed that a search warrant could be applied, and he could search the room.
A female identified as 50-year-old Wendy Sue Crowder was also in the room with her daughter and granddaughter. They asked if they could take their property outside the Hotel room and gave the Officer consent to search their property.
Inside Wendy's property was suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Wendy was holding and caring for a child during the investigation.
Wendy was arrested and booked into the Duchesne County Jail for child endangerment, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
