At 8:00 am, police were dispatched to a residence in Myton for a 9-1-1 hang-up. The female caller stated she was reporting that her sister-in-law, 37-year-old Karla Asencion Einerson, had assaulted her.

Officers arrived and began to approach the house, where a female was standing outside on the phone.

Detective Hunter was standing in the front room, telling Karla to come out to the living room. He stated that Karla was in the bathroom, refusing to come out.

Karla stepped out of the bathroom so the officers could see her, but she refused to come into the open living room area. They began walking towards Karla, who turned away from them and ducked back into the bathroom.

Karla got the door closed and lodged herself between the door by sitting on the floor, straightening her legs, and pushing the door closed. Several verbal commands were given for Karla to open the door, but refused to comply.

Detective Hunter, Deputy Priebe, and Deputy Green forced entry into the bathroom, where Karla jumped up when the door opened. Karla was grabbed by the arm and taken to the ground, where Deputy Green placed her in handcuffs.

Karla continued to fight, refusing to place her hands behind her back. With her left hand, she grabbed a hold of the handcuffs and continued resisting the officers. Detective Hunter was bit on the right arm by Karla as they tried to apprehend her.

Eventually, Karla was placed in handcuffs and escorted to a patrol vehicle.

Deputy Green interviewed the victim, who stated she went to Karla's house for coffee with her mother-in-law and noticed she was in a "weird head space with her behavior."

The victim stated that Karla was sitting by the wood-burning stove in the living room. Out of nowhere, Karla picked up the fire rod and hit it loudly against the stove. The victim asked, "What did you do that for?" Karla then hit the stove again.

The victim said Karla began to scream and yell at her and call her names. Karla then began to pull pictures off of the walls and throw them at the victim. Karla then started walking towards the victim. As she did so, Karla picked up a pill container and a book and got into her face.

The victim warned Karla that if she threw another thing at her, she would call the cops. Karla then picked up a candle and threw it at her, hitting her in the face.

Karla was asked to move to another patrol vehicle to be transported to the Duchesne County Jail. Karla refused to go into another vehicle and began to resist being transported to the jail.

The deputies attempted to get Karla into the other vehicle but were met with resistance. During the struggle to switch transport vehicles, Karla kicked Deputy Borrelli in the leg.

Karla asked that her handcuffs be readjusted. Deputy Borrelli made the adjustments, double-locked the handcuffs, and checked them for tightness. Once Karla was in the vehicle, Deputy Borrelli transported her to the Duchesne County Jail.

Karla was booked into the Duchesne County Jail on the offenses below and two no-bail warrants out of 8th District Court Duchesne.
