Uintah County Justice Court advised police that 45-year-old Brian Kay Carroll missed court and had a warrant issued for his arrest issued on 3/25/25.

While Deputy Ogle was on patrol, he conducted a records check and found two statewide warrants for Brian Carroll. Due to prior dealings, the deputy was familiar with Brian and knew where he had been living.

The deputy drove to where he knew Brian had been staying. In the 2700 West 1000 South area, he saw a male, Brian Carroll, walking eastbound on the side of the road.

At around 7 PM, Deputy Ogle began speaking with Brian when he walked up to his passenger-side window. He told Brian he had active warrants for his arrest, and Brian asked, "For what?" The deputy told him, "for missing court."

Brian was detained and told he wasn't free to leave. When he asked again what he was being detained for, he was told it was due to the active warrants.

Brian began moving around and digging in his pockets. It appeared Brian had thrown something, but it wasn't clear what or where it was thrown. As the deputy approached Brian, he angrily stated that he didn't have any warrants.

Brian refused several times to put his hands behind his back and continued to argue that he didn't have the warrants. He was eventually handcuffed and stated the warrants should have been recalled.

Brian was arrested, and Deputy Ogle began to search his person. In Brian's lower left sweatpants pocket was a clear plastic baggie containing 10 grams of suspected methamphetamine and a used glass pipe containing suspected methamphetamine residue.

Brian was read his Miranda Rights, at which he said he would talk but became uncooperative when asked what he smoked with that particular pipe. He was then secured in the back of a patrol vehicle.

Deputy Ogle started searching the area where he saw Brian throw something. He searched around the passenger side and front of his vehicle, including the roadway and dirt shoulder, but did not locate anything. When looking under the passenger side of his patrol vehicle, he found two receipts, a small black lid, and a clear plastic vial containing three blue suspected fentanyl pills.

One of the balled-up receipts located next to the vial containing Fentanyl was from AT&T and had the name BRIAN C on it as the customer. These items were located directly between the rear passenger and front passenger tires and would have been run over if not located.

The deputy reviewed the video footage on his dash camera, and it was obvious those items were not on the road when he pulled up to talk to Brian.

All evidence was secured in the patrol vehicle and was later booked into the Uintah County evidence locker. The baggie of suspected methamphetamine and vial of suspected fentanyl pills were submitted to the lab for testing.

Brian Kay Carroll was booked into Uintah County jail.

Brian Kay Carroll may post bail in the amount of $4,000.00.
