Police searching for a female who fled from a traffic stop

Travis Uresk

2/15/25

| Ballard, Ut. | February 10th, 2025 |

Deputy Simmons was stationary along Highway 40 near 3500 East in Ballard when he saw a red SUV drive by without a working license plate light.

It was easy to see that the light wasn’t working because it was just after midnight.

The deputy began to follow the vehicle to stop the SUV, but it turned South on 2500 East off of US-40. Deputy Simmons continued to follow the vehicle with his overhead emergency lights on.

The vehicle eventually pulled into the driveway of a residence at 190 South 2500 East, Ballard, Uintah County, Utah.

Immediately after coming to a stop, two occupants exited the passenger side of the vehicle and walked behind the residence where they were parked in front of.

The deputy spoke with the female driver, who asked why she had been pulled over. She was informed that the reason was a nonworking license plate light. The female stated she didn't have her driver's license with her but identified herself as 25-year-old Shannon Daria Cesspooch.

Deputy Simmons returned to his patrol vehicle to check Shannon's information when he noticed the front driver's door open on Shannon's car. He called out to Shannon to close the door, but Shannon got out of her vehicle and ran behind a residence.

The deputy notified dispatch that the female had fled westbound from their location and no longer had a visual line of sight. Other officers responded to the scene and looked through the yard for the female.

Due to Shannon running from the traffic stop after being informed of the reason for the traffic stop occurring and Shannon having a suspended driver's license, Deputy Simmons impounded Shannon’s SUV.

While inventorying the items in the vehicle, the officers found a small black-and-white makeup bag on the front passenger floorboard. Inside this bag were several baggies, which are common for the transportation of illegal narcotics.

They also located two broken glass pipes with residue inside of them, which are commonly used to ingest illegal narcotics.

Shannon fled from a lawful traffic stop after being detained and could not be located. Deputy Simmons is requesting an arrest warrant be issued for her arrest.
