Sex offender and his girlfriend arrested in Duchesne County for over 100 firearms, drug, and sex offender registry charges

Detectives with the Duchesne County Sheriff's Office received information that a male suspect who is on the sex offender registry was not in compliance and did not have a valid ID or driver's license.
Per Utah code (53-3-806.5 U.C.A), it is a 1 Class A Misdemeanor per month charge every month on the registry without a valid ID card or driver's license. It was verified with the driver's license division that 48-year-old Jeremias Brian Mullins has had neither since 03/18/2019 and had been on the registry since 2010.
Detectives responded to the residence on Highway 87 owned by Jeremias. When they arrived, Jeremias' girlfriend, 43-year-old Amber Dawn Johnston, was leaving the home in a vehicle without insurance. A stop was performed, and Amber was found to have a suspended license.
Detectives went to the residence and knocked on the door, but no one answered. Amber told the detective that Jeremias was inside. They had Amber go inside the home to get him to come outside, but she quickly got inside and shut the door on the detectives, not allowing them access to the residence and obstructing them from their investigation.
After several knocks on the door, Jeremias and Amber exited the home and were taken into custody.
Amber was also found to have 2 active statewide warrants. Jeremias is a category 1 restricted person for an aggravated sexual abuse of a child conviction in 2010.
Once at the jail, Amber was interviewed and told detectives that inside the home, they would find drugs and paraphernalia along with at least 3 guns. Amber stated that as recently as 4 days ago, she and Jeremias smoked marijuana together inside the home. She also said there were safes in the shed outside where she placed the guns.
A warrant was prepared and approved on April 22, 2025, and executed on the residence that afternoon. During the search, detectives and deputies located 8 different firearms: 1 pistol, two shotguns, and 3 .22 rifle. 1 AR-style gun, a 1 25.06 rifle, and several rounds of ammunition. Also located were a machete, several double-bladed large knives, hatchets, drug paraphernalia, and marijuana.
Jeremias was also arrested in Summit County a few weeks ago in possession of illegal narcotics and also has pending cases out of the Salt Lake City area for sex offender registry violations and aggravated assault.
Detective Notes: From probable cause report
"Currently, Jeremias has ongoing charges for aggravated assault and sex offender registry violation in the Salt Lake City area and has a history of violence. He ended parole for a conviction of aggravated sexual abuse of a child in 2022 and has been on the sex offender registry since 2010 for that charge. The suspect also commented that he may just be finished due to his ongoing charges in Salt Lake. It is suspected that due to these comments, he should be considered a flight risk if released and a danger to the community."
Jeremias and Amber are both being held in the Duchesne County Jail without bail.
