A call came into dispatch from a complainant saying Chardel had been yelling and being verbally abusive, and he wanted her to leave the residence.

Officer Elmer, along with other Vernal City Police Officers, responded to the disorderly conduct on North Vernal Ave. When they arrived, Officer Elmer spoke with the complainant, who stated that 45-year-old Chardel Massey had been drinking and became verbally aggressive and pushed him with both of her hands.

The officer asked the complainant more about the incident, to which he stated that she did not push him hard enough to make him fall backward and that he only wanted her to leave the home. The complainant also showed the officers a near empty bottle of liquor that he had taken from her and thrown in the trash.

Officer Elmer spoke with Chardel inside the home. She stated that nothing physical had happened, and she was upset because the complainant had woken her up, complaining about the alcohol bottle. Chardel stated that the alcohol bottle was not hers and that she had not been drinking. During their conversation, the officer did not smell the odor of alcohol coming from Chardel due to her being far enough away that he couldn't smell it

After this, the officer requested that Chardel go hang out somewhere else to let tempers cool down, and she willingly left the residence.

Shortly after Chardel left the residence, she went to her sister's residence, where she was called into dispatch again for arguing with her sister.

Officers met up with Chardel a second time, and Officer Elmer was closer to her, where he could smell the odor of alcohol on her breath.

Chardel started yelling at her sister when Officer Elmer stepped away to contact the Vernal City Justice Court, and Officer Candelas told her to stop yelling.

While on the phone with the court secretary, the officer was informed that Chardel was interdicted for alcohol use. After getting this information, Chardel was placed under arrest for possession and consumption of alcohol by an interdicted person. She was then transported to the Uintah County Jail, where she informed Officer Elmer that she possibly had some weed in her bag.

When the purse was inventoried at the jail, a small empty THC vape cartridge was located in the purse.

Chardel Massey may post bail in the amount of $1,380.00.
